Frequently Asked Questions
How will I know when my package arrives at 911Clean?
You will be able to log on to our website and view your product from station
to station.
What do you charge for repairs?
The charges are based on a time and materials basis. A pricelist can be
found on the “prices” page.
Are you certified to make repairs on turn-out gear?
Yes, we are certified.
Do the uniforms need to be cleaned before repairs
are done?
Yes, they need to have a routine cleaning.
What type of thread and material do you use?
We always use flame retardant Nomex and Kevlar thread and materials for
patching and restitching.
Can you replace zippers, hooks, and loops?
Certainly, this can be accomplished without causing a breach to any moisture
barrier material and without affecting the garment integrity.
How do I choose a cleaning and repair company?
Ask if the company can provide certification, recommendation letters,
and insurance.
Will my gear still be flame resistant after it is
cleaned?
Yes, turnout gear is made with inherently flame resistant materials such
as Nomex.
Is there a way to test how clean my gear is?
Conduct a “mass spec”, which tests determines the level of
toxins in the gear. There is a second test called an effluent test. It
is a water-based test, but not all contaminants are water-soluble so it
is not completely accurate.
Should I throw away turnouts that are ripped, torn,
burned or appear damaged beyond repair?
No. Gear can be refurbished for a fraction of the cost of a replacement
set. Call us or send in your gear with specific instructions for us to
call with a cleaning and repair quote.
What's the turn around time?
We guarantee a 72 hour turnaround time for cleaning. The repair time depends
on the nature of the work. Generally, it will take no longer than 1 week
for repairs.
How can I ship my gear?
Your gear should be boxed along with contact information, cleaning and
repair instructions, and billing information. Current customers ship gear
via UPS, FedEx, USPS, Roadway Express, etc.
